Image Compressor
Make photos smaller, even under 100 KB.
How to use Image Compressor
Image Compressor makes photos smaller so they upload, email and load faster. You can pick a quality level, or type a target and compress a photo to under 100 KB, 200 KB or any size you need. It works in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded.
- 1
Choose your photos, or drop them anywhere on the page.
- 2
Under Compress by, pick Quality to use the slider, or Target size to type a size in KB.
- 3
If the photo can't get small enough, tick Also shrink the pixels and pick a longest side.
- 4
Choose JPG or WebP under Save as, and check the new file size and saving shown.
- 5
Press Download. With more than one photo you can download them all as one ZIP.
Common questions
How do I compress a photo to under 100 KB?
Choose Target size, press the 100 KB button, and the tool finds the best quality that fits. If it still can't fit, tick Also shrink the pixels and choose a smaller longest side.
Does compressing an image reduce quality?
A little, but at 70 to 80% quality most people can't see the difference. Use the before and after slider on the photo to check before you download.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device, and your photos never leave it.
Is the image compressor free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 5 downloads a day at full quality with no watermark. Credits or Pro give you more.
Can I compress PNG files?
Yes. You can add PNG, JPG and WebP photos, and they are saved as JPG or WebP, which are much smaller for photos.
