Do I need Pro? Everyone gets 5 free downloads a day, and some tools are always free. Credits cost 1 per photo saved, and bought credits never expire, so they suit an occasional shoot. Pro makes every tool unlimited, so it suits regular work. Both unlock the bigger batches.
Does it replace my desktop editor? Not entirely, but it covers a lot. The RAW Editor develops RAW files in your browser and can hand your settings to other RAW editors as an XMP file. The other tools handle the jobs around the edit: exporting for clients, watermarking, renaming, proof sheets and quick fixes, from any computer.
Can I cancel? Yes, in two clicks from your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the time you've paid for.
