How to use Photo Info
View the hidden EXIF data inside a photo: the camera, lens, settings, the date it was taken and whether it shows a location. It helps you check a photo before you share it, or find out how a shot was taken. It reads the file in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
- 1
Choose a photo, or drop it anywhere on the page. JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP all work.
- 2
Read the File, Camera, Settings and When details.
- 3
Check Location. If one is found, you can open it in Google Maps.
- 4
Press Show all data to see every tag, or use Copy summary or Download as JSON.
Common questions
How do I see the EXIF data of a photo?
Add the photo here and the camera, settings, date and location are shown straight away.
How can I tell if a photo has a location in it?
Look at the Location section. It shows Found with the coordinates, or None.
Can I view metadata of iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC photos can be read here, along with JPG, PNG, TIFF and WebP.
Why does my photo show no data?
Many apps and websites remove hidden data when you save or share a photo. Screenshots also usually have very little.
Is my photo uploaded to read the metadata?
No. The data is read in your browser on your own device. There are no maps or lookups, and the Google Maps link only opens if you press it.
Is Photo Info free?
Yes. Photo Info is always free and never counts towards your daily downloads.
